Organised by London University, the Glad Rag Ball took place at the Empire Pool, Wembley, London on 20 November 1964. The show started at 9 pm and finished at 7 am with 7,000 people turning up in all kinds of clothing. It was hosted by Jimmy Savile and featured The Rolling Stones, Animals, Long John Baldry, Susan Maughan, Lorne Lesley, Ginger Johnson & his African Drummers and Humphrey Lyttelton.
