Turbine Fuel Test

26th June 1948: A fuel consumption test at the Lutterworth works of the British Thomson-Houston company in Leicestershire. The flames burning freely here are imprisoned in a gas-turbine and provide the power. In this test, paraffin was consumed at the rate of one ton per hour.
