Getty Images Gallery is delighted to be taking part in the Photo North Festival, in Harrogate, UK, from 30th November
to 2nd December 2019.

 

 

Organised by Getty Images Reportage photographer Peter Dench and following on from the success of last year, this unique photography event is aimed at the professional photographer, art-enthusiast, keen amateur and students. The festival brings together a sensational display of exhibitions, talks, walks, workshops and portfolio reviews from highly respected and emerging artists.

Getty Images Gallery is featuring a selected portfolio of artworks from the Hulton Archive collection, printed from the original negatives and signed by legendary photographers including Thurston Hopkins, Terry Fincher, John Chillingworth, Slim Aarons and Len Trievnor.

Beat Positive Opens in New York

Beat Positive, a celebration of the Golden Age of hip hop, opened at New York’s 10 Corso Como on Thursday, Nov 21. Featured photographers Janette Beckman, David Corio, Barbara Alper and Michel Delsol were among the more than 500 attendees. Legendary DJs Stretch and Bobbito provided an old school soundtrack that had everyone bouncing through the gallery.

Getty Images Gallery curator Shawn Waldron will host Beckman and Corio for a public artists talk on Saturday, Nov 23 from 3-5 pm. Panel discussions on fashion and music will follow in December and January. The exhibition closes Feb 2, 2020 and is always free and open to the public. All works are for sale.
